Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar Killed in Pune Plane Crash
Pune, Wednesday: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and five other persons were killed after a Learjet 45 aircraft carrying them crashed while landing in Pune district’s Baramati area on Wednesday morning. The aircraft, registration VT-SSK, operated by VSR, met with the accident at around 8:48 am. Ajit Pawar was travelling along with five passengers, including a Personal Security Officer (PSO) and an attendant, besides two crew members—the pilot-in-command and the first officer. Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu said that a transparent investigation would be conducted into the incident. “Preliminary information suggests poor visibility at the time of landing,” he stated.
