“Delhi Police Bust ISI-Backed Terrorist Arms-Smuggling Network Using Drones” seizing 10 foreign-made pistols and 92 live cartridges. The gang reportedly trafficked high-end weapons manufactured in China and Turkey into India via drone drops from across the border. According to the Crime Branch, the operation involved low-flying, customised commercial drones delivering consignments to pre-designated GPS locations in Punjab during late-night hours — a tactic used to evade radar detection. The traffickers wrapped the weapons in carbon-coated material to bypass scanning, and used encrypted communication, hawala channels, and proxy bank accounts to coordinate pickups and payments. Four key operatives have been arrested so far: Mandeep Singh (38) and Dalvinder Kumar (34) from Punjab, and Rohan Tomar (30) and Ajay alias “Monu” (37) from Uttar Pradesh. During a trap in Rohini, police intercepted a white car containing a duffel bag concealed inside a speaker box that held eight pistols and 84 cartridges. Further raids yielded two more firearms and eight more rounds. Police sources say the arrested men were working under Jaspreet alias “Jas”, an associate of US-based gangster Sonu Khatri, who is believed to have coordinated with ISI-linked handlers in Pakistan. Investigators are now analysing call records, financial transactions, and social media contacts to uncover the full network — including which local crime syndicates received these elite firearms. The bust comes amid tightened security in Delhi, especially following a suicide car-bombing outside the Red Fort earlier this month that left 15 people dead.
